HTC Sensation Android Smartphone

The HTC Sensation, announced in April this year, was originally supposed to be HTC Pyramid. However I am glad that the name Pyramid was scratched out, Sensation suits the phone much better. Other brands such as LG, Samsung and Sony Ericsson have all in the past few years switched to Android but HTC Sensation s perhaps one of the most highest spec offering HTC phone. The HTC Sensation is a temptation to the iPhone users to try out this Android phone.

In this review we will discuss the software, hardware and most common features of the phone. The HTC Sensation runs of Google’s OS Android and is a slim 11.3 mm phone. The phone has a large 4.3 inch Super LCD capacitive touch screen with a 1.2 GH dual core processor. The Sensation has 768 MB of RAM and 1 GB internal memory with microSD support for upto 32GB. The phone has extensive connectivity features with HSDPA 14.4 Mbps, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, micro USB, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP and FM radio with RDS. It has an 8 megapixel camera with auto focus and dual LED flash, and has features such as touch focus, geo-tagging, face detection and image stability.
Like most of the HTC phones the Sensation is also well built and has a sturdy feel to it. The phone comes only in black color and lacks the overdone bling that most phones are seen with these days. The keys of the phone are well placed and the only drawback is that the camera does not have a separate dedicated key. At the bottom of the screen, under the glass display there are capacitive buttons. On the whole the HTC Sensation has a professional and business like look to it and is ideal to make a well presented first impression.
The HTC Sensation is running with Google’s latest software, Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread combined with the Sense 3.0.  Some of the apps are similar to the rumored apps of iphone 5 iOS 5. The HTC Sensation users can now specify and customize which apps should launch quickly at the lock screen. The best part is that in addition to the existing applications of Android the HTC Sense offers features such as backing up of messages and contacts and remote locking. Themes, wall papers, ringtones and widgets can easily be downloaded free of cost on the phone.
